Chair Joni Ernst announced on Mar. 31 that Zeb’s Smokehouse has been named Small Business of the Week as part of her ongoing effort to recognize a small business in each of Iowa’s 99 counties.
The recognition highlights the role small businesses play in supporting local economies and rural communities. The Senate Small Business and Entrepreneurship Committee, which Ernst chairs, supports informed decision-making on national fiscal priorities according to the official website.

By turning their dream into reality, Zeb and Andrea created a business that serves farmers, feeds families, and strengthens rural America,” said Chair Ernst. “Through strong relationships with local farmers and producers, this small business knows how to meatthe needs of their community.”
Founded in 2015, Zeb’s Smokehouse began as a wild game processing operation and now offers locally raised beef and pork. The business is noted for its farm-to-table approach and commitment to working with area farmers. Their services help families preserve traditions central to rural life.
The Senate Small Business and Entrepreneurship Committee offers Congress comprehensive policy options on federal budget components according to the official website. Lindsey Graham serves as chairman while Jeff Merkley is ranking member according to the committee’s official site.
