U.S. Rep. Randy Feenstra joined U.S. Department of Agriculture Under Secretary Luke Lindberg on Apr. 9 to tour several agricultural facilities in Northwest Iowa and meet with local leaders and workers, focusing on the global success of Iowa agriculture.
The visit included stops at the Blue Bunny factory in Le Mars, Agriculture Processing Incorporated in Sergeant Bluff, and Seaboard Triumph Foods in Sioux City. The purpose of the tour was to showcase how Iowa’s producers and manufacturers are contributing to both domestic and international markets.
“I was honored to join USDA Under Secretary Luke Lindberg in touring our world class agricultural facilities across Iowa, and to hear directly from our producers and manufacturers about how we continue to grow markets both at home and abroad,” Feenstra said. He added, “From processing facilities to refineries, I had the opportunity to highlight the success of Iowa agriculture directly with Under Secretary Lindberg. As a top agricultural exporting state, Iowa plays a critical role in feeding and fueling the world, and expanding access to new international markets is essential to keeping our farmers competitive.”
Feenstra also said that strengthening trade relationships is important for breaking down barriers for U.S. products: “That means strengthening trade relationships, breaking down barriers to U.S. products, and ensuring our producers have the tools they need to reach customers around the globe.” He stated his intention “to continue working with President Trump, Under Secretary Lindberg, and our trade partners” for more opportunities for Iowa agriculture.
Feenstra has represented Iowa’s 4th district in Congress since replacing Steve King in 2021 according to official records. Before joining Congress he served as an Iowa state senator from 2009 until his election as reported by Ballotpedia. Born in Hull in 1969 where he still resides today according to his official biography, Feenstra graduated from Dordt University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1991.
