The Ida County Sheriff’s Office has announced that it will discontinue alert notifications via email and text message starting February 17, 2026. The change comes as the office launches a new mobile application, which is now available for download in both the Google Play Store and Apple Store.

According to the announcement, “Effective February 17, 2026, we will no longer provide alert notifications via email or text message.”

The Sheriff’s Office stated that alerts will instead be sent through its upgraded app. The app can be found by searching for “Ida County IA Sheriff” in either store. Additional instructions are available on the office’s Download App page.

This update follows a trend among law enforcement agencies to centralize communications and streamline public notifications through dedicated mobile applications.
