Improving Access to City Transit Training

Sioux City Transit will offer a training session focused on accessing the public transit service for persons of all ability levels. 

The training, “Improving Access for All Abilities”, will be held on Saturday, October 15 at 9:00 a.m. in the lobby of the Martin Luther King, Jr. Ground Transportation Center, 505 Nebraska Street.

Information that will be shared at the training will include:

  • Travel Planning
  • Ticket Purchasing
  • Boarding
  • Riding
  • Alighting

Class will start promptly at 9:00 a.m. in the lobby and transition to riding a city bus from
9:30 a.m. – 10:20 a.m.

The Sioux City Transit System is committed to giving all citizens equal access to public transportation. 

In keeping with that policy and the Americans with Disabilities Act, reasonable accommodations are provided to individuals with disabilities in all Transit programs, services, and facilities.

If accommodations and/or alternative information formats are needed in accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act, please contact Sioux City Transit Administration by calling 712-279-6405 at least 10 working days in advance of the training.

The Sioux City Transit System will make every attempt to provide reasonable accommodations; however, failure to request an accommodation within the specified time frame may limit our ability to complete this request. 

Complaints that a city program, service, or activity is not accessible to individuals with disabilities should be directed to the Human Resources Department by calling 712-279-6200.
