Joni Ernst, a prominent political figure, recently shared her thoughts on various topics through social media. Her posts ranged from personal excitement about an upcoming event to critical commentary on international research funding and advocacy for women’s sports.

On July 8, 2025, Joni Ernst expressed her enthusiasm for the upcoming Iowa State Fair. She stated, “It is getting hard to contain my excitement, so I’ll just say it. WE ARE JUST 29 DAYS FROM THE IOWA STATE FAIR.”

The following day, July 9, 2025, Ernst addressed concerns regarding USAID’s involvement in research activities in Wuhan. She claimed that “After I exposed that USAID funded batty research in Wuhan, now we learned USAID also paid to ship 11,000 samples from coronavirus hot spots to the Wuhan Institute of Virology’s lab.” Ernst emphasized this as a reason for her efforts to close what she described as a “rogue agency.”

Later on the same day, Ernst voiced her support for women and girls in sports. She tweeted that “Women and girls must be allowed to compete on a fair and even playing field!” while commending the Trump administration’s efforts in defending Title IX and women’s sports.

Additional information for Step 3: The Iowa State Fair is an annual state fair held in Des Moines, Iowa in August.
