U.S. Senator Joni Ernst has recently highlighted efforts to combat fraud and celebrated a local wildlife event in a series of posts on her official X account.
On March 27, 2026, Ernst commented on recent developments in Minnesota, stating, “The fraud @nickshirleyy exposed in Minnesota is just the tip of the iceberg. The Trump admin is hard at work to identify and end fraud, and I’m working on legislation to stop fraud before it happens.”
A few days later, on March 30, she posted about enforcement actions against financial crimes: “After billions have been stolen from taxpayers, @SecScottBessent is cracking down on criminals, leaving fraudsters nowhere to hide. Now, Uncle Sam needs you! Use the tipline today to expose scammers and their schemes. Accountability is coming!”
Also on March 30, Ernst shared news unrelated to policy or legislation: “A new eaglet just hatched on the Decorah Eagle Cam!”
Senator Ernst represents Iowa in the U.S. Senate and has focused her legislative work on fiscal responsibility and budget improvements. She was the first woman from Iowa elected to federal office and made history as the first female combat veteran elected to the Senate (official website). Her office also assists Iowans with matters related to Social Security, Medicare, veterans benefits, immigration, and military affairs.
Before entering Congress, Ernst served over 23 years in the Iowa Army National Guard—including commanding troops during Operation Iraqi Freedom—and achieved the rank of lieutenant colonel (official website). Raised on a family farm in Montgomery County with an emphasis on hard work and service (official website), she holds degrees from Iowa State University and Columbus State University.
