Senator Joni Ernst has recently used her social media platform to address a range of issues, from the humanitarian crisis involving hostages in the Middle East to government spending and efficiency. Her posts span August 5 and 6, 2025.
On August 5, 2025, Senator Ernst posted about the ongoing hostage situation involving Hamas. She wrote, “Starving hostages and forcing them to dig their own graves is another example of Iran-backed Hamas’ utter lack of humanity. Rom Braslavski, Evyatar David, and ALL the hostages need to be returned NOW!”
The following day, on August 6, she turned her attention to federal spending oversight. In a post highlighting her latest report on infrastructure projects, Ernst stated: “My Off the Rails report exposes crazy trains to nowhere and other taxpayer-funded boondoggles racking up $162 billion in cost overruns. I identified $14 billion that has yet to be spent and am working with @SecDuffy to claw back the funds.”
Later that same day, Ernst endorsed an article by Dan Lips focused on reducing waste in government operations. She commented: “Great piece by @DanLips. Cutting waste, fraud, and abuse in Washington to create a more efficient government that better serves the American people is common sense and deserves bipartisan support.”
