The following day, she discussed regulatory changes affecting Iowa’s agricultural sector. On February 18, 2026, Ernst wrote: “After I brought this to @USDA’s attention, I’m thrilled @SecRollins is taking action to reduce regulatory burdens for our pork processors. I look forward to pushing this proposed update across the finish line, so Iowa pork producers can operate without the burden of excessive”

Later that same day, she expressed support for law enforcement officials: “Our brave law enforcement officials are keeping our communities safe from violent criminals!”

Senator Ernst operates within the federal legislative branch as a representative of Iowa and leads several committees including Small Business and Entrepreneurship. Her office provides constituent services such as casework and facilitating interactions with federal agencies (source). She was elected in 2014 as both the first woman from Iowa to serve in the U.S. Senate and the first female combat veteran in that body.
