U.S. Senator Joni Ernst posted a series of updates on March 24, 2026, highlighting her recent activities in Congress and recognition for her work.

In a tweet posted at 15:53 UTC, Ernst stated, “.@RepAshleyHinson and I called for action. Now, @FCC answered to ensure China cannot spy on our homeland.   This is a win to protect Americans!” She referenced efforts with Representative Ashley Hinson and the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) regarding national security concerns related to China.

Later that day at 16:55 UTC, Ernst shared her appreciation for being honored by Growth Energy, posting, “It was an honor to be recognized by @GrowthEnergy and earn America’s Fuel Award. I’ve long championed renewable fuels as a way to support U.S. energy independence, and I’ll keep working to secure year-round E15 to lower prices for folks at the pump!” She reiterated her commitment to promoting renewable fuels and supporting policies aimed at reducing fuel costs.

At 17:20 UTC, Ernst addressed government accountability in another post: “We need to send a clear message to fraudsters past, present, and future: there are consequences to stealing from taxpayers.”

Senator Ernst has served over 23 years in the Iowa Army National Guard and is recognized as the first female combat veteran elected to the United States Senate. She became the first woman from Iowa elected to federal office upon joining Congress. Raised on a family farm in Montgomery County, Iowa, she credits her upbringing with instilling values of hard work and service. In addition to her military service, she holds degrees from Iowa State University and Columbus State University.
