Joni Ernst, U.S. Senator from Iowa and the first woman from the state elected to federal office, addressed a range of issues in a series of posts on May 1, 2026.
In one post, Ernst called for reforms regarding federal pensions for individuals convicted of sexual crimes. On May 1, 2026, she stated: “The federal government should be a place where sexual predators are shut out, not shielded. Yet, convicted creeps in agencies and Congress still can collect a taxpayer-funded pension. My No Taxpayer-Funded Pensions for Sex Criminals Act stands up for taxpayer dollars and https://t.co/ucHE05PJj6”.
Earlier that day, Ernst shared two links without additional commentary: “https://t.co/yEm9o2Mtlp https://t.co/epsOVDDKJS” (May 1, 2026).
Later on May 1, Ernst welcomed home members of the Iowa National Guard. She wrote: “A heartfelt welcome home to our brave men and women in the @IowaNatGuard. Thank you for your service! https://t.co/kdoivTOpxr”.
