Later that day at 21:11 UTC, she tweeted about reforms supporting entrepreneurs: “After years of work to put small businesses at the forefront of the SBIR-STTR programs, I am thrilled President Trump signed into law my long-overdue updates that give entrepreneurs the certainty needed to build and grow! Through these reforms, we are putting our warfighters”. Senator Ernst represents Iowa in Congress and has served over two decades in the Iowa Army National Guard, achieving the rank of lieutenant colonel and commanding troops during Operation Iraqi Freedom. She is also recognized as the first woman from Iowa elected to federal office and was raised on a family farm in Montgomery County. Her office provides assistance with federal agency matters such as Social Security, Medicare, veterans benefits, immigration issues, and military affairs (official website).
