Senator Joni Ernst, who represents Iowa in the U.S. Senate and chairs the Senate Committee on Small Business and Entrepreneurship, recently posted a series of messages addressing national celebrations, government funding, and fraud prevention.
On March 10, 2026, Ernst shared her support for a patriotic initiative: “The Sojourn 250 flag arrived in Iowa as it travels across the country ahead of America’s 250th birthday to honor the generations of men and women who fought to protect our freedoms. https://t.co/3wcqKYF1SW”
The following day, she urged action on government funding with a call directed at Democratic lawmakers: “The safety of Americans is at stake – Democrats need to fund @DHSgov now! https://t.co/gBYoIDyOXC” (March 11, 2026).
Later that same day, Ernst praised efforts by the Trump administration to address financial misconduct: “The Trump administration is cracking down on fraud! I’m proud of @SBA_Kelly’s leadership to protect taxpayer dollars. https://t.co/5lMS1HQr1e” (March 11, 2026).
Ernst’s office provides constituent services throughout Iowa and assists residents with casework involving federal agencies (official website). In addition to leading the Small Business and Entrepreneurship Committee, she serves on Armed Services; Agriculture, Nutrition and Forestry; and Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs committees (official website). Ernst made history as the first woman from Iowa elected to the U.S. Senate and is recognized as the first female combat veteran in that chamber (official website).
