Senator Joni Ernst, who represents Iowa in the U.S. Senate and chairs the Senate Committee on Small Business and Entrepreneurship, posted a series of statements on social media regarding the State of the Union address and recent legislative actions.
On February 24, 2026, ahead of the State of the Union, Ernst wrote: “At tonight’s State of the Union, we will hear how President Trump has made America a more affordable, more secure, and stronger nation! https://t.co/968YbFVaAj”.
Later that day, she commented on tax policy initiatives: “After passing the Working Families Tax Cuts last summer, Republican leadership is making America more affordable by returning tax dollars to hardworking Americans! https://t.co/DEnLAoRCkh”.
On February 25, 2026, Ernst highlighted her guest for the State of the Union: “It is an honor to host Gold Star wife and Iowan Arianna Howard as my guest at tonight’s State of the Union. Her late husband Staff Sergeant Nate Howard — who made the ultimate sacrifice while serving our nation —represents the absolute best of us, and we must ensure his legacy https://t.co/Y1op0BpjZN”.
