Senator Joni Ernst, who represents Iowa in the U.S. Senate and chairs the Senate Committee on Small Business and Entrepreneurship, posted a series of statements on social media regarding the State of the Union address and recent legislative actions.

On February 24, 2026, ahead of the State of the Union, Ernst wrote: “At tonight’s State of the Union, we will hear how President Trump has made America a more affordable, more secure, and stronger nation! https://t.co/968YbFVaAj”.

Later that day, she commented on tax policy initiatives: “After passing the Working Families Tax Cuts last summer, Republican leadership is making America more affordable by returning tax dollars to hardworking Americans! https://t.co/DEnLAoRCkh”.

On February 25, 2026, Ernst highlighted her guest for the State of the Union: “It is an honor to host Gold Star wife and Iowan Arianna Howard as my guest at tonight’s State of the Union. Her late husband Staff Sergeant Nate Howard — who made the ultimate sacrifice while serving our nation —represents the absolute best of us, and we must ensure his legacy https://t.co/Y1op0BpjZN”.

Senator Ernst’s office provides constituent services across Iowa and assists with casework involving federal agencies (source). In addition to her role as chair of a Senate committee focused on small business issues, she also serves on several other committees related to armed services, agriculture, nutrition and forestry, as well as homeland security (source). Elected in 2014 as both Iowa’s first female senator and the first female combat veteran in that body (source), Ernst continues to engage with public inquiries through her official channels.
