Senator Joni Ernst of Iowa posted a series of statements on February 23, 2026, highlighting her support for military families, legislative action on immigration-related violence, and the achievements of American athletes.
In her first post, Ernst stated: “Iowa stands with our heroes and their families! I’m humbled to host Arianna Howard as my guest for the State of the Union. Later that day, Ernst addressed issues related to immigration and crime. She wrote: “President Trump truly has our Angel Families’ backs. From Laken Riley to Iowan Sarah Root, too many of our citizens have lost their lives at the hands of violent illegal immigrants. Thank you @POTUS for implementing the Laken Riley Act – which included my Sarah’s Law – and” (February 23, 2026). In this post, she referenced legislative measures aimed at addressing crimes committed by undocumented immigrants.
In a subsequent tweet recognizing athletic achievement, Ernst said: “Proud of all our athletes for representing @TeamUSA and securing 12 gold medals in the Winter Olympics! “ (February 23, 2026).
Joni Ernst serves as a U.S. Senator from Iowa within the federal legislative branch.
