U.S. Senator Joni Ernst of Iowa recently highlighted several initiatives and events supporting small businesses and community celebrations in the state through a series of social media posts.
On April 15, Ernst shared news about new tax policy measures, stating, “Amazing news for Iowa small businesses! The Working Families Tax Cuts allows a 20% tax deduction for small business owners and is projected to help Iowa gain 12,000 new jobs annually.”
The following day, on April 16, she announced an upcoming event at Iowa State University. She wrote, “I’m excited to be hosting my fourth annual Entrepreneur Expo @IowaStateU on June 30th! This is a great opportunity for Iowa small businesses to connect with federal and state agencies, lenders, investors, and contractors. I’d love to see you there! RSVP here:”
Later that same day, Ernst promoted the upcoming Iowa State Fair’s celebration of America’s semiquincentennial. She posted: “This year’s @IowaStateFair celebrates America’s 250th and will feature many patriotic tributes and can’t-miss moments”
Senator Ernst has served over two decades in the Iowa Army National Guard and achieved the rank of lieutenant colonel. She was also the first woman from Iowa elected to federal office upon joining Congress (official website).
