Chair Joni Ernst announced on Apr. 13 that Port Neal Welding Company has been selected as the Small Business of the Week, part of her ongoing effort to recognize small businesses in each of Iowa’s 99 counties during this Congress.
The recognition highlights the role small businesses play in local communities and their contributions to Iowa’s economy. Chair Ernst said, “For over 30 years, Port Neal Welding Company has exemplified the well-fused entrepreneurial values of American small businesses. From creating industrial stairs, catwalks, and agricultural products to custom metal art, Dan Lee and his team’s commitment to high quality craftsmanship have welded folks’ trust across Iowa.”
Founded in 1994 by Dan Lee, Port Neal Welding Company started as a home-based operation and has grown into an important business in its community. Working with his four sons, Lee produces a range of products from industrial steel items to custom artwork. The company is known for assisting with repairs or fabricating new pieces as needed.
