Rep. Randy Feenstra, who represents Iowa’s 4th district in the U.S. Congress, shared several statements on February 12, 2026, addressing recent events involving Iowans and national service members.
In a post at 14:22 UTC, Feenstra expressed condolences for two fallen soldiers: “Iowa and our nation mourn the loss of Sgt. Nate Howard and Sgt. Edgar Torres-Tovar—heroes who gave their lives defending fellow service members in Syria. I’m honored to help lead legislation with the Iowa Delegation to rename two VA facilities in their honor so their legacy of”.
Later that day at 17:00 UTC, Feenstra highlighted his recognition of Sarah Root on the House floor: “This week, I honored Sarah Root on the House floor. She was just 21 when she was killed by a drunk illegal immigrant who fled the country, leaving her family without answers or justice for nearly a decade. Now, he has been extradited and sentenced to more than 20 years in”.

Randy Feenstra has served as U.S. Representative since 2021 after replacing Steve King; prior to his current role he was an Iowa State Senator from 2009 through 2021. Born in Hull, Iowa in 1969, Feenstra continues to reside there today and is an alumnus of Dordt University (Class of ’91).
