Rep. Randy Feenstra, U.S. Congressman representing Iowa’s 4th district since 2021 and a native of Hull, Iowa, used his official social media account this week to highlight key issues including Iowa Agriculture Week, anti-fraud legislation regarding welfare benefits, and the Congressional Art Competition for high school students.
On March 23, 2026, Feenstra acknowledged the significance of agriculture in Iowa’s identity and heritage. In his post he wrote: “This week marks Iowa Agriculture Week—a time to celebrate the farmers, families, and communities who have been the backbone of our state for generations. It’s an honor to represent one of the nation’s leading agricultural states. As we approach America’s 250th anniversary, we” (March 23, 2026).
Later that day, Feenstra discussed legislative efforts targeting welfare fraud related to overseas payments. He stated: “President Trump is focused on eliminating fraud from taxpayers’ benefits. That’s why I introduced the No American Benefits Abroad Act—to prevent welfare benefits from being wired overseas. These programs are meant to support Americans in need, and if someone has the means to” (March 23, 2026).
In a third message posted that afternoon, Feenstra promoted participation in a national art competition: “It is that time of year, as we open our Congressional Art Competition for high school students in Iowa’s Fourth District! This is a unique opportunity to showcase your creativity, with winning artwork displayed in the halls of the U.S. Capitol for visitors from across the” (March 23, 2026).
Feenstra succeeded Steve King as representative of Iowa’s Fourth District in Congress after serving over a decade in the Iowa Senate from 2009 until his election to Congress. Born in Hull in 1969 and an alumnus of Dordt University, Feenstra has maintained ties with local communities throughout his political career.
