Rep. Randy Feenstra, who represents Iowa’s 4th district in the U.S. Congress, posted a series of updates on his official social media account between March 23 and March 24, 2026, addressing education leadership, agricultural policy, and severe weather preparedness.
On March 23, Feenstra congratulated Dr. Lori Suddick for her new role at Des Moines Area Community College. He wrote: “Congratulations to Dr. Lori Suddick on being appointed as the new President of Des Moines Area Community College! With her extensive leadership in education, I’m confident her commitment to teaching and learning excellence will be invaluable in strengthening DMACC’s academic” (March 23, 2026).
Later that day, Feenstra addressed Iowa Ag Week by discussing challenges facing local farmers due to California’s Proposition 12. In his post he stated: “In honor of Iowa Ag Week, I’m highlighting key wins for Iowa farmers. California produces less than 1% of our nation’s hogs, yet its Prop 12 imposes an unscientific mandate that hurts Iowa producers, raises pork prices, and threatens animal health. That’s why I helped introduce” (March 23, 2026).
On March 24, Feenstra reminded constituents about Severe Weather Awareness Week with practical advice for preparedness: “It’s Severe Weather Awareness Week, a reminder to be prepared for tornadoes and flooding. Iowans are advised to sign up for alerts, check emergency kits, practice shelter and evacuation plans, review insurance coverage, and document home inventory. Learn more:” (March 24, 2026).
Feenstra has served in Congress since replacing Steve King in 2021 after previously serving in the Iowa Senate from 2009 to 2021. Born in Hull in 1969 and a graduate of Dordt University with a BA earned in 1991, he continues to reside in Hull while representing his district.
