Randy Feenstra, U.S. Congressman representing Iowa’s 4th district since 2021 and a former Iowa State Senator, used his social media platform to comment on President Trump’s State of the Union address delivered on February 24, 2026.
On the evening of February 24, Feenstra wrote: “Tonight, President Trump will deliver his State of the Union, highlighting historic victories from his first year in office. From the largest tax cut in history, to securing borders, lowering health care costs, and making historic trade deals — real results are being delivered.”
Later that night, Feenstra highlighted guests he invited to attend the address: “I’m honored to have Scott Root, the father of the late Sarah Root, and her younger brother, Scotty Root, as my special guests at the State of the Union. The first bill President Trump signed into law included Sarah’s Law, ensuring accountability for crimes committed by illegal”.
In a follow-up post after President Trump’s speech on February 25, Feenstra stated: “Just moments ago, President Trump addressed the nation, highlighting the historic wins achieved in just his first year. These accomplishments include the largest tax cut for working families in history, unleashing American energy independence, securing our borders, strengthening”.
Feenstra was born in Hull, Iowa in 1969 and continues to reside there at age 54. He earned a BA from Dordt University in 1991. After serving more than a decade in the Iowa Senate between 2009 and 2021,he began representing Iowa’s 4th congressional district, succeeding Steve King.
