Rep. Randy Feenstra, a U.S. Congressman representing Iowa’s 4th district since 2021, recently used his social media platform to discuss legislative initiatives and policy perspectives related to fraud prevention, broadband access, and rural economic development.
On March 17, 2026, Feenstra addressed concerns about government waste in a post: “Fraud scandals across the country are a stark reminder that waste, fraud, and abuse are still rampant. That’s why I introduced the No American Benefits Abroad Act—to stop welfare recipients from wiring taxpayer-funded benefits overseas. Simply put: if someone can afford to send”.
Later that day, Feenstra highlighted efforts to expand internet connectivity in rural areas: “Reliable broadband helps our Main Streets grow and better connects our communities in Iowa. That’s why I introduced the Middle Mile for Rural America Act and was glad to see it included in the Farm Bill.”
On March 18, 2026, he commented on federal tax policy and its impact on agriculture: “Thanks to the Working Families Tax Cuts, crop insurance is more affordable, and rural loans are more accessible. Under President Trump’s leadership, we’re driving investment, creating new business opportunities, and strengthening rural communities.”
Feenstra has represented Iowa’s 4th District in Congress since replacing Steve King in 2021; prior to this role he served in the Iowa Senate from 2009 to 2021. He was born in Hull, Iowa in 1969 and continues to reside there at age 54. He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Dordt University in 1991.
