Randy Feenstra, currently serving as the U.S. Representative for Iowa’s 4th district, recently shared his thoughts on President Trump’s “One, Big, Beautiful Bill” through a series of tweets. Feenstra has been a member of Congress since 2021, after replacing Steve King. He previously served in the Iowa Senate from 2009 to 2021.

On July 8, 2025, Feenstra posted about the bill’s impact on standard deductions for Iowans. He stated that “President Trump’s ‘One, Big, Beautiful Bill’ increases the standard deduction to nearly $32,000 for Iowa families.” According to him, this change allows Iowans to retain more of their earnings.

Later that day, he highlighted another aspect of the bill related to agriculture and land ownership. Feenstra noted that “President Trump’s ‘One, Big, Beautiful Bill’ protects family farms and keeps China away from our farmland.” He explained that this is achieved by increasing the death tax exemption to facilitate generational transfer of family farms.

In a subsequent tweet on the same day, Feenstra described the legislation as “a once-in-a-generation investment in the American economy and the largest tax cut for families, farmers, workers, seniors, and small businesses in American history.” He expressed optimism that this law would spur economic growth and benefit rural areas.

Feenstra was born in Hull, Iowa in 1969 and still resides there. He graduated from Dordt University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1991.
