Sievert’s Furniture & Floors was named Small Business of the Week by Chair Joni Ernst, according to an April 20 announcement. The recognition highlights the company’s longstanding service to the Emmet County community.
The award draws attention to local businesses that have made significant contributions over time. Chair Ernst said, “For over 50 years, Sievert’s Furniture & Floors has been furnishing excellence by providing the Emmet County community with mattresses, recliners, flooring, and so much more.”
Sievert’s began in 1970 when John Raymond “Doc” Sievert and his wife Judy opened an appliance store called Sievert’s Refrigeration in their garage. Over several decades, they expanded their operations into a full furniture and flooring business offering a range of home furnishings. In 2015, their son Jeff took over management of the family business and continues its tradition of service.
Chair Ernst also said, “Doc and Judy grew Sievert’s from a small appliance business into a chair-ished furniture and flooring company that continues to give back to the folks in Estherville.”
