Kid's Days 2020 is the Sioux City Public Museum's response to the ongoing COVID-19 crisis.
The program is an adaptation of the Kid's Thursdays program and offers new activities that take the contagious virus into consideration by emphasizing social distancing, according to a press release on Sioux City's website.
Activities will be held every Thursday and Saturday from 10 a.m. to noon through Saturday, Aug. 1. The activities include a "Summer Safari" where participants look for hidden wildlife throughout the museum, "Adventures in Space" where kids create space-related chalk drawings, "Sioux City Heroes," which is a scavenger hunt about important local figures and "Dinosaur Day" where participants try to find dinosaurs around the museum.
Each activity requires parents or guardians to pick up a free packet of materials related to the activity. The activities in the packets are designed to be completed at home and brought to the museum for the independent activity.
The museum asks that all participants practice social distancing and wear masks.
