City of Sioux City recently issued the following announcement.
WHAT: The Orpheum Theatre will be hosting a showing of the holiday classic film “It’s a Wonderful Life”.
The event will be sponsored by the Siouxland Chamber of Commerce and will be shown for free with a suggested donation of a non-perishable food item to be donated to the Food Bank of Siouxland.
The Orpheum’s showing of “It’s a Wonderful” life has become an annual tradition the Saturday following Thanksgiving and has become a holiday staple for many families around the Siouxland area.
Released in 1947, “It’s a Wonderful Life” tells the story of George Bailey, who has become burdened with a number of problems and plans to end his life by jumping off a bridge. Before jumping, George is visited by his guardian angel, Clarence, who shows George what his town would be like if not for all of George’s good deeds over the years. The film is a heartwarming tale that reminds its viewer of the value of the gift of life.
WHEN: Saturday, November 27 at 7:00 p.m. Theatre doors will open at 6:00 p.m.
