The City of Sioux City Engineering Division announces the start of the Whispering Creek Drive and Castles Gate Drive Intersection Repaving Project on June 19, 2023.The Whispering Creek Drive and Castles Gate Drive Intersection Repaving Project includes the replacement of storm and sanitary sewer, the addition of subdrains, and the removal and replacement of street and sidewalk paving. Limits of the construction on Whispering Creek Drive are approximately 140 feet west and 40 feet east of the intersection; limits also include approximately 100 feet of Castles Gate Drive to the north of the intersection. The Whispering Creek Drive and Castles Gate Drive Intersection Repaving Project was awarded to KP Construction, Inc. on March 27, 2023, in the amount of $491,019.00.The project is planned to be constructed in two stages to always allow for access to Castles Gate Drive.

• Stage 1: June 19 – Mid-Julyo Construction on the east portion of the intersection.o Access to Castles Gate Drive will be from the west off Morningside Avenue and Whispering Creek Drive.o Access to properties east of Castles Gate Drive will be from Morningside Avenue (Old Highway 141) to Glen Ellen Road.

• Stage 2: Mid-July – Mid-Augusto Construction on the west portion of the intersection.o Access to Castles Gate Drive will be from Morningside Avenue (Old Highway 141) to Glen Ellen Road.o Access to properties east of Castles Gate Drive will be from Morningside Avenue (Old Highway 141) to Glen Ellen Road.
