City of Storm Lake issued the following announcement on Mar. 9.
The City of Storm Lake (City) will be starting a drainage improvement project on Oates Street between East 4th and East 5th Streets, as well as on East 4th Street between Oates Street and Flindt Drive.
The construction work will start as soon as the weather allows, and will last through this summer, with final restoration and project completion in September 2020. The Contractor will be removing concrete to install new storm sewer pipes and intake structures. In addition, they will be excavating soil for the creation of bioretention basins, as well as the installation of native vegetation in the form of landscaping to enhance water quality to Storm Lake and reduce standing water on adjacent streets.
