Le Mars ranked 144th in state for resident earnings in 2017

Le Mars ranked 144th among cities in Iowa by annual earnings per resident, according to data obtained from the U.S. Census Bureau in August.

The median income of Le Mars residents was an inflation-adjusted $33,273 per year. Le Mars had 4,169 households in 2017, with a population of 9,861.

The city with the highest median resident income in the state was Bentley. Bentley's median income was $73,309 per year after adjusting for inflation – $40,036 more than Le Mars. It had 43 households in 2017 and a population of 104.

Rodney had the lowest annual resident income among cities in Iowa, with a median income of only $9,659 per year. That was $23,614 less than the median income in Le Mars at the time. Rodney had 29 households in 2017 and a population of 50.
