City of Storm Lake issued the following announcement on Apr. 3.
Effective immediately, the use of play equipment, basketball courts and other recreational fields must cease in order to prevent community spread of the COVID-19 coronavirus. Play equipment will be roped off and designated with cautionary signage.
Recreational use of the trails throughout the City can continue. It is very important to practice social distancing to protect you and others from the coronavirus when using trails.
Please be wise in conducting your choices of outdoor activities. We understand the disruption and inconvenience to our daily lives caused by this pandemic. The City will continue to monitor direction received from Federal and State sources and act accordingly.
