City of Storm Lake issued the following announcement on May 18.
The City of Storm Lake Parks Department will be spraying the city parks throughout the month of May when the weather permits.
As parks are sprayed they will be posted with chemical treatment flags.
Citizens are encouraged to stay off the grass areas of the parks that have been treated for 24 hours. Flags will be removed once the 24 hour time frame has expired.
Spraying should take about two weeks to complete depending on the weather conditions.
The City of Storm Lake apologizes for the inconvenience this may cause and appreciates the cooperation of the community during this process.
