City of Sioux City issued the following announcement on June 25.
The Sioux City Art Center will unlock its doors to the public beginning Tuesday, July 7. The Art Center will be open during its usual times: Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.; Thursday from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.; and Sunday from 1 to 4 p.m.
The following safety precautions are being employed:
- The public is not permitted to enter either the Junior League Hands On! Gallery or the Gilchrist Learning Center.
- The public is permitted access only to the first-floor galleries.
- Hand sanitizer stations are installed at both entrances to the Art Center and outside the restrooms.
- Occupancy limits will be enforced within each space.
- Touch surfaces—restrooms, door handles, etc.—will be cleaned and disinfected regularly.
- Social distancing between groups will be required and masks will be strongly encouraged. All staff members will wear masks outside of their office spaces.

The Sioux City Art Center is a model public/private partnership between the City of Sioux City and the Art Center Association of Sioux City.
