Steve Hansen, Sioux City Public Museum director, has announced that it reopened to the public on Tuesday, July 7.
The museum has returned to its normal operating hours, which is from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Museum officials said that visitors to the facility will be "strongly encouraged" to observe social distancing protocol and wear face masks. The Museum, along with all other facilities, closed due to the COVID-19 crisis in March.
Officials said that the staff plan to launch a new summer exhibit, named "Saturday in the Park: 29 Years of Memories." The museum will also resume the two exhibits that were on display before the coronavirus shutdowns. The exhibit was made available on July 7.
The museum has announced that it is resuming the exhibit, “City of Hope: Resurrection City and the 1968 Poor People’s Campaign” from the Smithsonian as well.
