City of Sioux City issued the following announcement on Aug. 11.
Mayor Bob Scott announced today the addition of United Express flights, operated by SkyWest Airlines, from Sioux Gateway Airport/Brigadier General Bud Day Field to Denver International Airport beginning on Wednesday, October 14, 2020. The once daily flights will be onboard 50-passenger CRJ200 jet aircraft.
In addition to being a great connecting hub for travelers heading west, Denver is also a top destination for Siouxland leisure and business travelers. From Denver, United provides 460 daily flights to more than 170 destinations.
Dave Bernstein, President of the Sioux Gateway Airport Board of Trustees said, “Denver, as a destination, will be a great addition to Chicago and Dallas. Denver has proven successful in the past and will provide yet another reason for travelers to choose Sioux City as their airport, regardless of where they are traveling to. In these challenging times Sioux City is the ideal airport to travel to and from as it is small, clean and not congested, making travel much safer and less stressful."
