City of Sioux City issued the following announcement on Aug. 20.
The City of Sioux City Engineering Division announces the start of the FY 21 Resurfacing Project on Jackson Street between 5th Street and 14th Street. During this time period Jackson Street from 5th Street to 14th Street will be closed to through traffic. This closure will allow the City’s Contractor to replace existing sidewalk curb ramps, placement of new curb and gutter, concrete panel patching, remove the existing street surface, and complete the asphalt resurfacing of the street. This closure is anticipated to begin the morning of August 24, 2020 and is anticipated to be complete in early October 2020, weather dependent. During this closure access to homes and businesses will be maintained.
Motorists are advised to reduce speed, drive cautiously, and obey all traffic control signs with regards to this closure.
