Western Iowa Tech Community College instructor Daniel D. Anderson donates $50 to James D. Scholten's campaign

Daniel D. Anderson, an instructor at Western Iowa Tech Community College, donated $50 to Democratic Party candidate James D. Scholten, according to the Federal Election Commission.

According to records, there have been $3,300 in campaign contributions made by individuals affiliated with Western Iowa Tech Community College as of November 3. Approximately 98.5 percent, or $3,250, of these contributions were made to Republican Party candidates and committees.

Robert J. Henderson's contribution of $3,250 to Republican Party Jeremy Taylor was the largest contribution made by someone affiliated with Western Iowa Tech Community College since January 1, 2019.

According to an Inside Higher Ed analysis of federal elections data, individuals that were affiliated with colleges and universities have donated five times more money to Joe Biden than to President Trump. A study by Pew Research in 2017 found that 58 percent of Republicans and Republican-leaning independents thought colleges and universities have a negative impact on the way things are going in this country.
