City of Sioux City issued the following announcement on Nov. 13.
Downtown Partners and The Warrior Hotel are excited to work with Santa’s House this year to host “Santa In The Window” of The Warrior Hotel in Sioux City, Iowa. Santa will be inside greeting children from the corner window of 6th & Nebraska Streets every Saturday through the holiday season, beginning on Saturday, November 28th.
On November 28th, December 5th, December 12th and December 19th from 12:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. children of all ages will be able to see and talk with Santa from outside the window. A microphone will be available for children to talk with Santa. In order to speak at the microphone, individuals must be wearing a mask and will be limited on speaking time. Families and groups of no more than 8 people must always maintain social distancing while at the window and while waiting for their turn.
While this year has presented itself with many challenges, organizers hope to try and provide a safe way for the community to visit with Santa. Volunteers from Santa’s House will be present to help keep things moving and to help Santa collect any letters to take to the North Pole. The Sioux City Police Department will join us and hand out candy canes for visitors.
