Cherokee Regional Medical Center issued the following announcement on Dec. 10.

Stressing the importance of promoting fitness and quality of life initiatives, Cherokee Regional Medical Center (CRMC) has pledged $30,000 to the Holstein Aquatic Center Project. CRMC’s commitment consists of a $15,000 pledge payment slated for 2021 and an additional $15,000 pledge payment to occur in 2022.

Graciously accepting the donation pledge from CRMC representatives were Holstein Mayor Kathy Breyfogle, and Holstein City Council Member Terri Schimmer, who also serves on the Holstein Aquatic Center Committee.

“We are extremely pleased that Cherokee Regional Medical Center and its Holstein Clinic have made a significant commitment to support this worthwhile project,” says Schimmer. “CRMC’s generous pledge is a significant boost to our community fundraising efforts and has opened the door for other area businesses and individuals to help bring the Holstein Aquatic Center to fruition.”

Gary Jordon, CEO/President of CRMC states, “Besides being a leading provider of quality rural health care, one of the main priorities of Cherokee Regional Medical Center is to support the communities in which we serve, live and enjoy; this is especially true when it comes to backing projects that help us to address issues identified through our periodic Community Health Needs Assessment process.”

CRMC has a history of supporting projects that promote health and wellness, education, and community betterment. The pledge serves as a testament to the CRMC Board of Directors’ commitment to contribute to worthwhile endeavors as they fall within the scope of CRMC’s mission.

According to Schimmer, the Holstein Aquatic Center Project will be another wonderful enhancement to the Holstein community. “Holstein has been very progressive in supporting quality of life initiatives within the community,” says Schimmer. “The Aquatic Center will be a perfect complement to the walking trails, golf course, ball fields and the Lohff-Schumann Rec Center. I am confident it will be highly utilized by the residents of Holstein and the surrounding communities.”
