City of Sioux City issued the following announcement.
The Sioux City Mayor’s Youth Commission and the Sioux City Young Ambassadors, in cooperation with the Carpenters Local 948, Latham Park, and Siouxland CARES, installed a Little Free Library® at the North West entrance to Latham Park in Sioux City on the morning of July 9, 2021.
The Carpenters Local 948 created and installed the library and members of the Sioux City Mayor’s Youth Commission and Young Ambassadors filled the library with books. The Mayor’s Youth Commission and Young Ambassador youth will also maintain and monitor the state of the Little Free Libraries TM.
The Mayor’s Youth Commission and Young Ambassadors now maintain 11 Little Free Libraries across Siouxland. Locations include: Latham Park, LaunchPAD Children’s Museum, Mercy Medical Center, Sioux City Journal, Book People, Jitters, Sioux City Community School District, Sioux City Art Center, Bush Cleaners, Bishop Heelan Catholic Schools, and the Sioux City Police Department.
