Road

City of Sioux City issued the following announcement on August 18.

The City of Sioux City Engineering Division announces the start of the Andrew Avenue Paving and Utilities Improvement Project on August 23, 2021. The scope of this project includes the paving of Andrew Avenue from 225th Street to Sully Road, sanitary sewer installation, storm sewer installation and water main installation along the roadway.

The project is currently planned to be constructed in two stages. Stage 1 includes the north portion of Andrew Avenue approximately halfway between 225th Street and Sully Road. Stage 2 will include the south portion of Andrew Avenue.

During each construction stage, the work area will be closed to all traffic and a detour route will be available along Allison Avenue. The project is anticipated to be completed in 80 working days concluding in November 2021. All dates are approximate and can change due to weather. A map is attached to show the project stage limits.

Motorists are advised to reduce speed, drive cautiously, and obey all traffic control signs with regards to this closure.
