Community Speak-Out Series: Finance Department

Genbusiness002

The City of Sioux City will host a Community Speak-Out listening session focused on the City’s Finance Department on Thursday, May 26 at 5:00 p.m. at the Sioux City Public Museum. One month following the in-person event, Finance Department staff will respond with answers to questions and comments via Facebook Live on the City of Sioux City: Diversity page.

Community Speak-Out sessions allow community members an opportunity to publicly share their experiences and provide suggestions on how the city and residents can drive positive change.

The mission of the Finance Department is to serve internal and external customers by providing a range of financial and internal services, ensuring the City meets minimum standards set by law, enabling City workers to achieve efficiency; and accommodating the needs of citizens using the department

Services that are provided include providing all financial and accounting services for the City; financial reporting; budget preparation and monitoring; debt issuance; payroll; procurement of supplies and services general information; and collection of municipal funds.

Contact Sioux City Community Inclusion Liaison Semehar Ghebrekidan with questions at sghebrekidan@sioux-city.org or by phone at 712-203-7738.
