Nine students will graduate from Western Iowa Tech Community College Regional Law Enforcement Academy today, November 10, 2022 at 12:00pm (Cargill Auditorium, Parking lot 4). The academy graduates are deputies and officers from area law enforcement agencies in Northwest Iowa: Osceola County Sheriff’s Office, Hawarden Police Department, Pocahontas Police Department, Sioux City Police Department, Harlan Police Department, Orange City Police Department, and Cherokee Police Department.
This is the 32nd academy class to graduate from the Western Iowa Tech Community College Regional Academy. The Regional Academy is an intermediate course for candidates that have a Police Science two-year degree or a Bachelor’s Degree with emphasis in police technology. It is a nine-week program where students demonstrate competencies in 54 different subject matters from unbiased policing, cultural competency, ethics, mental health training, firearms, and legal issues.
