Glass Recycling Containers Scheduled for Maintenance Hy-Vee Store at 4500 Sergeant Road

The City of Sioux City offers glass recycling to the community by partnering with Gill Hauling and Ripple Glass to collect and transport glass from multiple sites throughout the city. The six purple glass recycling containers have been in place for approximately five years and are now undergoing scheduled maintenance.

Glass recycling containers will be serviced one at a time to provide consistent recycling to the community. The glass recycling container located at the Hy-Vee Store at 4500 Sergeant Road will be next in the rotation of the three remaining containers left for maintenance. Removal of the container is anticipated for Thursday, November 10, 2022. Residents can expect this container to be unavailable for approximately 4 weeks.

Residents may continue to drop off glass for recycling at the other following city locations during this time, including:

  • Fareway Stores - 4040 War Eagle Drive and 4016 Indian Hills Drive
  • Hy-Vee Stores - 2827 Hamilton Boulevard and 3301 Gordon Drive
  • Tyson Events Center/Long Lines Family Rec Center Parking Lot - 401 Gordon Drive
  • Citizen’s Convenience Center - 5800 28th Street
To date, the glass recycling program has resulted in more than 1,000 tons of glass available for recycling from our community. We appreciate everyone who is taking the time to utilize this worthy program.
