The Urban Native Center and the Sioux City Human Rights Commission will co-host a memorial potluck to honor the Dakota 38 that were killed on December 26, 1862 in the largest mass execution in the United States.
In addition, the event also honors Dakota Leaders Medicine Bottle and Shakopee who were hung in 1865.
The event will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Monday, December 26, 2022 at the Sioux City Public Museum, 607 4th Street.
This event is free and open to the public. All are welcome to attend.
