WASHINGTON, D.C. – On April 18, U.S. Rep. Randy Feenstra (R-Hull) issued the following statement after voting to override President Biden’s veto of a bipartisan, bicameral resolution to overturn the Biden Administration’s expansive and costly WOTUS rule.
“President Biden’s veto of a bipartisan resolution to overturn his costly and invasive WOTUS rule represents another example of his callous disregard for rural America and our hardworking farmers and their families. Under his expansive proposal, 97% of Iowa land will be subject to federal regulation and normal activities like moving dirt, plowing, and building fences will require a federal permit. On my Feenstra Agriculture Tour, I have heard from countless farmers who strongly oppose this bureaucratic overreach, and that’s why I proudly voted to override President Biden’s veto and restore local control of Iowa farmland to our producers.”
