The City of Sioux City Engineering Division announces the start of the West Palmer Avenue and George Street Intersection Reconstruction Project for the 2023 construction season. The contractor plans to begin construction on or about June 5, 2023, weather pending. The West Palmer Avenue and George Street Intersection Reconstruction Project will reconstruct the roadway and sidewalks in this intersection. City utilities such as water and sanitary sewers will also be replaced. The project will be constructed in a single stage. During the project, access to W Palmer Ave will be restricted to local traffic only at Ross Street and Rebecca Street. Additionally, access to George will also be restricted to local traffic only at W 4th Street and W 5th Street.
The West Palmer Avenue and George Street Intersection Reconstruction Project was awarded to Mark Albenesius, Inc. on January 23, 2023, in the amount of $830,082.65.
