WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Rep. Randy Feenstra (R-Hull) delivered a passionate speech on the House Floor today, highlighting his efforts to secure the border and criticizing President Biden's open-border policies. In his remarks, Feenstra called for the impeachment of Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas.

Feenstra began by expressing his concern over the consequences of President Biden's open-border policies, stating, "President Biden’s open-border policies have rolled out the welcome mat for illegal immigrants, drug traffickers, terrorists, and foreign nationals with ties to China." He pointed out the alarming number of illegal border crossings, with 302,000 apprehensions in December alone, the highest ever recorded. Feenstra emphasized the urgency of the situation, revealing that approximately 10,000 illegal immigrants are crossing the border every day.

The congressman underscored the need to address the chaos and lawlessness at the border. He highlighted his support for the Secure the Border Act, which aims to complete the border wall and provide full funding for border patrol agents. Feenstra also mentioned his introduction of Sarah's Law, named after 21-year-old Sarah Root, who was killed by an illegal immigrant driving under the influence. This legislation seeks to detain and prosecute illegal immigrants who seriously injure or kill American citizens.

Feenstra further outlined his efforts to combat drug cartels and prevent the influx of deadly fentanyl into rural communities. He introduced legislation to seize money from drug cartels, with the intention of using the funds to finish the border wall. The congressman stressed the importance of keeping these dangerous drugs out of our neighborhoods.

Drawing on the feedback he received during his 36 County Tour, Feenstra highlighted the strong desire among Iowans to secure the border and ensure the safety of their communities. He assured his constituents that he shares their concerns and is committed to holding President Biden accountable for his open-border policies. Additionally, Feenstra pledged to vote for the impeachment of Secretary Mayorkas, whom he accuses of dereliction of duty.
