U.S. Rep. Randy Feenstra has announced that he will host a Military Academy Day for Iowa students interested in applying to one of the nation's five military academies. The event aims to provide information and guidance to students from 8th grade through 12th grade who are considering a future in military service. Representatives from all five academies, including the U.S. Coast Guard Academy, the U.S. Military Academy, the U.S. Naval Academy, the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy, and the U.S. Air Force Academy, will be present to answer questions and offer advice.

“Our military is the strongest fighting force in the world due to the service and sacrifice of the brave men and women who wear the uniform and defend our freedoms. We can never adequately thank our troops for risking their own lives to protect our communities and our nation,” stated Rep. Feenstra, emphasizing the importance of honoring and supporting the military personnel. He encouraged students interested in applying to attend the Military Academy Day event in Fort Dodge, calling it a unique opportunity to gain insights from academy representatives and learn about the application process.

The Military Academy Day hosted by Feenstra is scheduled to take place at Iowa Central Community College in Room 133 of the Greehey Building on Thursday, April 4, 2024, from 4:30 PM CT to 7:00 PM CT. The address for the event is One Triton Circle Fort Dodge, IA 50501. Those seeking more information can contact Jim Oberhelman, U.S. Military Academy Coordinator in Rep. Feenstra’s office, at 515-302-7060.
