U.S. Rep. Randy Feenstra of Iowa has announced the commencement of the 2024 Congressional Art Competition for high school students in Iowa’s 4th Congressional District. The competition aims to provide a platform for students to express their artistic abilities and talents.

According to Rep. Feenstra, "The Congressional Art Competition is a great opportunity for students to showcase their artistic talents and compete for a chance to have their artwork displayed in the U.S. Capitol or one of my three offices across the district." Students are encouraged to participate and enjoy the contest.

Artwork submissions will be judged based on criteria such as originality, concept, technique, creativity, and representation of Iowa’s 4th Congressional District. The winning artwork will be displayed in the U.S. Capitol for one year, while three runners-up will have their pieces exhibited in Rep. Feenstra's district offices in Sioux City, Fort Dodge, and Council Bluffs.

Students can submit their artwork by mailing it to Congressman Randy Feenstra's district office in Fort Dodge or by emailing photos of the artwork to Geo Marcial. The submission deadline for all artwork is April 28, 2024, at 5 PM CT, with the winners set to be announced on May 8th.

For any inquiries or further information, students can contact Geo Marcial at Geornalier.Marcial@mail.house.gov or (202) 225-4426. Additional instructions and rules regarding the art piece and the competition can be found on the official website.

The Congressional Art Competition provides a valuable opportunity for young artists to showcase their talents on a national platform. Students are encouraged to participate and seize the chance to have their artwork displayed prominently in Washington, D.C. and across Iowa’s 4th Congressional District.
