On the one-year anniversary of the passage of the Secure the Border Act, U.S. Rep. Randy Feenstra (R-Hull) issued a statement from Hull, Iowa. He reminded that this act was considered to be the most robust border security package in American history.
Feenstra stated, “One year ago today, I voted for the strongest border security legislation in American history to end President Biden’s border crisis. This package would finish the border wall, restore ‘Remain in Mexico,’ and end radical ‘catch-and-release’ policies. It would also fully fund our brave border patrol agents who are on the front lines of this crisis."
However, he expressed disappointment with Senate Democrats and President Biden. "Unfortunately, Senate Democrats have stonewalled its passage and President Biden has threatened to veto it completely. Their priorities are not only at odds with the majority of the American people but also a serious threat to our national security," he added.
Feenstra pledged his continued commitment towards addressing issues related to border security. "While known terrorists, drug traffickers, and millions of illegal immigrants pour over our border, I’ll continue to fight to close the border and keep deadly fentanyl out of our communities,” he concluded.
