U.S. Representative Randy Feenstra (R-Hull) cast his vote today in favor of the Detain and Deport Illegal Aliens Who Assault Cops Act, which subsequently passed in the U.S. House of Representatives. The legislation proposes amendments to the Immigration and Nationality Act, allowing for the detention of illegal immigrants who assault law enforcement officers.

Rep. Feenstra commented on the situation, stating, "Our law enforcement officers and border patrol agents are on the front lines of the border crisis created by President Biden’s radical policies. Due to the chaos and lawlessness that the Biden administration has allowed to ensue, law enforcement officers have been injured and even killed defending our nation’s borders and protecting our communities." He further expressed his appreciation for these "heroes" who he believes deserve our deepest gratitude.

Feenstra continued, "Illegal immigrants who unlawfully cross our border and attack law enforcement officers or border patrol agents must be swiftly detained and deported. We are a nation of laws, and I will continue to vote to hold illegal immigrants accountable for their actions."
